Children may ask, "Where does our food come from? How can I grow some of my own food?
The Mobile Botanical Gardens is happy to announce a multi-week program to answer those questions with a series of Saturday morning workshops for children, ages 8-12. Participants will explore what foods come from plants, what plants need to grow, and the work of farmers to bring good fruits and vegetables to our dining tables. From Dirt Day and Grocery Store Botany to harvest, young gardeners will plant and maintain their own raised bed ‘farms’ at MBG’s Magnolia Hill.
Veggie Kids is sponsored by the Lilian S. Woolford Charitable Trust
Instructor: Dr. Judy P. Stout
Participation Fee: $90 per child members; $100 per child non-members (includes all day admission to MBG each day of class). Members will receive a $10 refund.
