6-week practical gardening class taught by our Curator of Collections, Amanda Wilkins.
The time has finally come! Have you wanted to get into gardening, but just aren’t sure how? Come join the Gardens for a six-week introductory course on all you need to know to get started in your own garden, whether it is a window box or your backyard. You will be led through the botany of gardening, how to look at your landscape and select plants, soil preparation, and proper plant maintenance. This is an informal class that will be taught mainly in the classroom, with opportunities to learn in the Gardens.
About Our Instructor:
Amanda Wilkins is the Curator of Collections at the Mobile Botanical Gardens. She received her Bachelor’s degree in horticulture from N.C. State University and her Masters in plant science from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
